Wedding in Venice || Irina and Alex

Saturday, 23 August 2014

Venice is always associated with the Carnival, that takes place every February. The good news is that even if you don’t plan to get married in winter, you can find the famous Venetian masks and performances in carnival dresses.

Whatever the season you can host your own little carnival at your wedding party, you only need to invite Harlequin and Columbine, traditional characters of the Italian folk Commedia dell’Arte that dates back to the 16th century. They will be amusing your guests all day long with their jokes, tricks and “punches” that Harlequin traditionally gets. You can also buy some masks for yourselves and your guests.

Adding a gondola ride through the quiet canals of Venice and a lunch with typical Italian dishes will make it an ideal Venetial wedding.
