Wedding in Venice || Kitija and Gianni
The Venetian bridge Ponte degli Scalzi that spans the Grand Canal, was the setting of their first meeting, and here they were again on the same romantic spot on the day of their wedding in Venice. The bride was very expressive and artistic and the groom was camera-shy, like most men during a photoshoot. It was an ordinary October day for Venetians, but a very special day for Kitija and Gianni that were about to unite their lives according to the Orthodox sacrament of marriage in an ancient Venetian Church.
The preparations took place at Villa Barbarich in Mestre with minimum fuss and only the nearest and dearest. After the symbolic and romantic meeting at the bridge we started our photoshoot in the very heart of Venice and then took a boat to have the gorgeous canals and charismatic streets as our backdrop.
There was a magical and profound religious ceremony awaiting us at San Giorgio dei Greci, one of the most praised Byzantine style masterpieces, according to the French writer and politician André Malraux. After a splendid ceremony, congratulations of the guests and the first glasses of wine, all of us headed back to Villa Barbarich for a heartfelt and intimate wedding dinner.
